how harry is going to kill voldemort

Postby spagetti » Saturday 17 April 2004 8:11:59pm

we know that harry has to kill voldemort but i noticed when i was reading the order of the phoenix that after sirius died harry tried to use the crucio curse against bellatrix and it didn't do much. she told him in oder to use the curse you have to want to cause pain.

did his not work because of lack of power or harry didn't want to cause pain?

with this in mind would the killing curse work for harry? or how would he kill voldemort?

Avada kedavra isnt the only way of killing anybody. and that is certainly not the way by which harry will kill voldy due to the following reasons

1. harry cant use it as he doesnt want to feel pain.

2. there has to be a powerful magic behind it (mentioned in moody's lecture in GoF) moody said that if all the students used it against him, it wont cause a nosebleed. only a person as strong or stronger than the other can kill him. otherwise how easy is it for snape to curse Voldy behind his back and disapparate immediately?

3. Voldemort has taken protections against it. remember, his own avada kedavra rebounded on him wasnt good enough to kill him

there have been other ways discussed in other parts of this forum

It could be the thing in the Department of Mysteries that does it.

I don't really know how the Aveda Kedavra curse works...

Groo, I do think Harry will, by the end of the seventh book, have the power to perform the curse.

And with the deal about Harry not wanting to cause pain, I think what happened in OotP with Bellatrix could have been, like, a white-hot rage that would simmer down... but after two more years and a lot more losses, I think he could have the kind of festering anger that would be needed to perform the curse.

About how Voldy took precautions to not die, even when his own Aveda Kedavra curse rebounded on him, remember, he's vulnerable now. He settled for mortality right now, with the intention of becoming immortal again sometime in the future. When he used his father's bone, Wormtail's flesh and Harry's blood to get a body again, he made himself vulnerable to death, and as far as we know, he hasn't done anything yet to change that.

That said, I am actually leaning more towards the theory that it won't be AK that will kill him. No idea what will, but I do know there are other ways for wizards, even great ones, to die.

So... we'll see. :-)

There is always the possibility that Voldie is killed in a very mundane manner, like with a sledge hammer.
OK that would not make for a very good story line but it is always possible.
Personally I'd like to see him get eaten by like a basilisk or something. :o

 his best friend turns on him... that would be interesting...

question: how do you milk a snake?

I think Nagini finally gets ticked off enough from all those snake milkings they had to do to feed Voldy before his body, she's gonna get revenge...

I think you can milk the venom of a snake. People do it to create anti-venoms.

As far as Snape doing it behind his back, I think LV would be too smart to fall for that one. He is probably powerful enough to hear the start of the curse and disapparate before the end of the curse, therefore avoiding the green jet from Snape's wand. Snape would then be comprimised.

actually the mundane manner of killing would probably work. For example you could build a sheild against lasers for example that would be useless against brute strength. He might be protected against magic but what about crocodiles, sledgehammers and angry 3 year olds?

hehe, funny:D

imagine Harry and Voldemort in a graveyard surrounded by snakes whom Voldy is egging on. but Harry has become powerful with parseltongue over two years and both of them try to control the snakes. Harry succeeds and Voldemort is shocked to see his snakes hissing and spitting back at him. he lets out a last dying scream as he is engulfed by slithering, venomous snakes.....

huh! now how did i think of all this? :-?
This sounds absolutely impossible but JKR could make this very sensational!

 quite possible

i too agree that harry will have the power and the desire to perform the avada kedavra curse in book 7. but i dont think voldie will be killed in this manner.....however, that doesn't stop people like Lucuis malfoy getting killed by such a curse
