thats always an unclear area!

personally i dont think that the map updated sirius' memory. i think that the map simply just holds the maradaurs memories at the age of which the map was created.

As for Voldemorts memory updates, i don't think that it updated the mempry of the present voldemort. i think that the events that occured would have been told to him by Lucius Malfoy

That's right Nobby because the Voldemort today would not have existed if Malfoy's plan had worked and Voldie was able to use Ginny to come back. There would now have been a 16 year old Voldemort to deal with with all his memories up to age 16 and what ever information he got from Ginny about his rise and fall.

Hmmm... that would suck for him... to have spent forty years working to be this great, powerful, big bad wizard, and then be a sixteen-year-old at school again.

I don't know how it worked, to tell you the truth. I still don't think Malfoy would have been too keen on mentioning what happened in CoS to Voldy, seeing as things didn't exactly turn out as expected... *shrug* Doesn't really matter, though...

If Malfoy wouldnt have mentioned this to Voldemort, wormtail would have. he would have known everything being close to ron.

i dont think present day Voldemort would have disappeared if riddle's plan would have succeded. it was his memories in the diary not his past self. there would have been two Voldemorts one 16 year old and one full grown

by the way, the CoS was opened 50 years ago. that makes Voldy 65 years old doesnt it? how much is a wizard's lifespan?

That may be true but I don't think Wormtail would be that frank and open with Voldemort. This all happened four years ago and because it didn't work I honestly would be near the forefront of Wormtail's mind.

He may not have dissapeared but he would still be the formless spector that he was at the time of CoS for with the 16 yr. old Voldemort returned and having no knowledge of his bodiless conciouse floating around the Albanian Forest there would be no real plausible way to return that Voldie to his body, unless 16 yr. old Tom listens to rumors and goes looking for himself? :???:

Well that has been discussed in another thread (can't think where just now) and most folks have agreed that; with their advanced healing powers and potions and what not; wizards have, over time, developed quite long avarage life spans.
DD for instance is 150 or something like that.

Yeah... not to mention, people seem to be much younger than they would seem in our world... Hagrid seems to be in his late thirties, I think, but he's really about 65. Dumbledore isn't a corpse yet, so he's definately not what we would define a 150 year old to be... I think it's mentioned somewhere that McGonagall is somewhere in her seventies...

There's even some talk as to how old Ollivander is... is he the original Ollivander? he's "ancient"...
