Prophecies

Postby Gypsy » Friday 18 July 2003 12:30:03pm

When the six enter the hall of prophecies, the book says that som of the orbs 'glow with a liquid light, whereas others are dull and dark. Why does everybody think that some glow but others do not. Is it simply just because some are older than others, or something else?

Gypsy: i cant' actually remember that bit in the book, and unfortunally it's not here with me! (But I will be getting it back on Monday, where I will look it up)

But my guess about it would be that the globes start to glow because someone in their specific prophecy has entered the room... Does taht make any sense? And, incase I get your reply before I get abck to the book, which six are we talking about? I guessed Sirius and that gang?

The six are; Harry, Ron, Hermione, Luna, Ginny and Neville. The orbs have many differences...some appear to filled with liquid and the contents appear to be different colours.

Still, I can't come up with a reason why :-? :???: .

Prophecy

I would guess that the glowing ones are unfilled, and the dark ones have already been fulfilled.

I thought about Highscorer, but Harry's prophecy doesnt glow, so if you were right, it would mean that that prophecy has already been fulfilled, which we dont think it has so i dont think it can be that.

Prophecies

Well, reverse it, and perhaps the glowing ones have been fulfilled.

Or, perhaps, the dark ones mean that the people they refer to have been identified (and thus are sealed against others taking them off the shelves), and the glowing ones refer to people who have not been identified (and the keeper can take them down to refer to them for later marking).

There are all kinds of possibilities.

Maybe the dull ones havent been heard by the people who they are about yet, so Harry's was dull. So maybe the bright ones are the ones that people have come in and heard.

or maybe the brightness, or dullness, or color or whatever, maybe that's all like a way of classifying the different prophecies, like the order of importance, or the amount of people it could affect? Just an idea. :-?
