Harry's Destiny (fate) Foretold

Postby Broken Machine » Monday 16 June 2003 4:42:14pm

Okay keep in mind that this is just atheory that I and my significant other have drawn up. Okay.

Now in the HP series Professor Trewlany seems to be an utter moron who has to DD's knowledge thus far only come up with two genuine predictions in her time as a Hogwarts teacher. Our thought is that when Voldimort attended Hogwarts the first genuine prediction that Trewlany had was that he (Voldie) would see his downfall at the hands of a young boy, who may or may not have been identified as HP. Maybe some characteristic of Harry's that would mark him as the boy or maybe the combination of both James and Lilly. In any case, taken this info, Voldie set out on his mission after school to become Immortal so that he could not be killed by this young boy despite the prediction. So when Voldie finds out about the birth of Harry, which is months later that James and Lilly go into hiding, he comes to kill him.

Just a theory but please pick it apart and let me know what you think.

i like that theory broken!its awesome!i mean it makes perfect sense i mean i don't remeber what prof.trewlany said to harry i'll look it up after im done writing this if i feel like getting up, but i know it had something to do with voldi.Jo normally doesn't just give us info that wont come into play later so maybe it will play a big part in one of the last three books.I just don't know how ill sleep on it tonight and ill let you know what i think tomorrow!

I like it too Broken!!! I have wondered wqhen the other prediction from Trelawnery will come into the books, because we dont' often get told such specific info unless it comes up later!

And so maybe there is no heir of Griff business (which I dont' really like anyways) and that's why he was trying to kill Harry and his Dad... Maybe the kid had to be a Potter, and so kiling James would remove the chances of having another Potter, which is why he didnt' necessarily have to kill Lily???

i like it and i think it could be possible, but how do we know that it was trelawney's other prediction, and, do we even know that trelawney was teaching then, i mean, it was 50 years ago and i always got the impression of her being about 35-45

yeah i understand that but i think broken was saying that prof.trelawny told voldi himself not snape telling voldi what prof.trewlany said.i think that i just repeated what 12321 just said.

Well I can't find out how old Trewlany is on the HP Lexicon but it doesn't mean she isn't old enough to have gone through Voldie all the way up to Harry. DD was around when Voldie was a young Tom Riddle, why couldn't she be? What the theory is though was that Trawlany predicted to Voldie his downfall and Voldie set out to become the most powerful and also to prevent his own death. Somehow Voldie came to the Potters who basically finished school then had a child then went into hiding. I doubt they could have been that great a threat to the D.E.'s or Voldie other then a thorn in the side, but he definitly was after Harry. For all we know he could have tortured James trying to get info on his sons whereabouts without intent to kill. Time will tell though.

oh okies, my bad!

I must have read it wrong!!!

I dont' honestly think that Prof T is that old though, and I like Snape telling Voldie about the prediction, but then, people usually do like their own theories, dont' they!!! ;)
