well firstly lupin is a werewolf...wizards dont seem to trust werewolves do they and second lupin is into defence against the dark arts....like quirrel was...could be a chance that if they study that too deeply they go bad like quirrel did maybe....

Hrmm.. I dont' think that either of those reasons had anything to do with it... 1) becuase Sirius befriended Lupin, just like James and Peter:evil: even though they knew he was a werewolf, and werew good friend iwth is for a long time, so i think that they would have gotten over the stupid predujuce, just like Harry Ron and Hermoine have! and 2) Sirius didn't know about Quirell.. he was put into jail 10/11(?)yrs before that happened... and there has been no hint that any of the DADA teachers went evil before Quirell...

I think that the reason that he suspected Lupin was the same reasont hat Lupin suspected him... they knew that someone close to the Potters was slipping Voldie info about them... who was closer that those two... Also, if people had suspected Peter, then it would have been more likely to guess the end, and the fact that he was really weak/not as talented sorta made tehm all think that it wasnt' him...

That's just my opinion tho...

Yeah it could be; but maye Lupin is really bad and we won't know t until book seven. (I don0't think so, but I still wonder why sirius thought that Lupin was a DE)

Becuase they knew taht it had to be someone very close to the Potters, and they were Sirius, Peter and Lupin... And it would really ahve taken the shocking end out of the bok if someone had suspected that it was Peter... wso that only leaves Sirius and Lupin... obv sirius isn't going to think it was himself, and he had to suspect someone!

They probably did, but maybe the ind of info being leaked about them was really personal stuff... ie if you are moving to hide, you only tell your close friends where you are...

DD just suspected that it was one of his close friends, which is why he didn't want Sirius to be the SC... I would assume that he would have had the same objections to either Peter or Lupin aswell...

I think that that's the same reason that McGonagall offered.

Madam Rosmerta said, and other agreed, that they never suspected Sirius before... which means that people only decided that he was guilty after the event, and that makes perfect sense... he appeared to be guilty.
