About Harry-is-a-horcrux...

Postby Albus » Monday 17 October 2005 4:34:20pm

Hello ! I've not been posting for soooooo long...
But now I had this idea and I want to share it and listen to your opinions...

About the "Harry-is-a-horcrux" theory: I'm not yet convinced about that, but there's something which came up in my mind and I want to hear your opinion...

What if LV had already used one of his horcruxes ? In particular, I think that could have been Harry's blood, in GoF, when Wormtail uses it to make up Voldemort's body once again.

I must admit that's a strange theory, but it would explain that "glimpse of triumph" in Dumbledore's eyes when Harry tells him that Voldemort could touch him.

So, what do you think ?

It's a strange idea. I can't slam it because it's actually quite logical, and there's a faint chance of it happening.

The reason I don't believe it is that we haven't seen anything that proves humans can be horcruxes.
Nagini, of course, is a snake.
But if this theory is true, wouldn't Lord Voldemort have tried to command Harry's mind earlier on, when it was weaker?
I'm thinking it's not true, but it's a good theory.

The problemwith your idea phoenix is that Voldy didn't know the connection existed till teh fifth book. Remember, he finds out about it only during christmas break when Harry's 15. Therefore, any chance to control him was missed by teh time he found out

As for the blood thing. That is reasonable... very reasonable in fact. However, teh connection still exists and Harry still has some of Voldy's power. If the bit of soul isn't still in him (as my theory is entirely dependant on these powers and connection) then how does he still have these things?

I must say I've started to believe in this theory a little bit myself. And yes, of course, you're right about that Tanuki.
It just seems like there are so many unanswered quesitons, that this would be a perfect way to fit them all in.

I'm not sure about the blood thing. It doesn't seem to fit with me.

At the end of GoF, LV says that one or more of his experiments had worked. DD has a glimmer in his eye because LV "overcame that one"

I think that LV wanted Harry's blood purely so that Lily's blood would then run through his veins and that he would then have her "protection" as well.

Incidentally does anyone else think it's quite spooky that Harry and LV are almost like brothers that is to say Blood-Brothers!

I doubt that kind of protection, whatever blood he has, would work at all on him. I think, as we all know, he did it so he could touch and kill Harry... which we all know. I think even he would be foolish to think any protection of love would protect him.

And blood-brothers... clever really that one.
I do thikn there is a significance it in somewhat though. I mean, personally the Flesh, Blood and Bone chapter has been my favourite in the whole series, but I really think it's interesting that he and Harry share the same blood.
Yes, it is a little... spooky.

As we now know, Voldemort only has a seventh of his soul within his body. Perhaps the love that still resides in Harry's veins, will now have an effect on this weakened part of Voldermort. Maybe Harry's mum's love will still be able to protect him even when it is within Voldemort?

Yes, indeed. It may even start to work against Voldemort. His blood (Harry's) could sort of start to fail as the love can't work properly inside Voldemort's body.
