Intergration of OOTP Threads?

Postby Holly Golightly » Sunday 22 June 2003 7:31:35am

I was wondering when we were going to be intergrating the threads at the top about OOTP into the rest of the forum? :typing:

And, this will probably be at the same time, when it will be alright to discuss OOTP events in the rest of the forum?

I do agree that it is just a little too early yet *hehehe, since it only came out yesterday ;) *, but it was just something that I am curious about... :D

I read that people didnt' want quiz qns about OOTP for about a month, so will that be around the same time that it is okay to discuss it? Or do people think that that amount of time is too short/long? :???:

Also, I do hope that we really will be intergrating the OOTP stuff at the top into the rest of the forum, ie, the theories of OOTP into the other theories section, etc Rumours, etc Characters!!! Cause then I could still mod it!!! hehehe! ;)

I'm thinking probably at least a month or two - although even then it may be a bit too early for total integration.

After about a month (or possibly two or maybe even a little more) the very strict guidelines for posting will probably be eased up upon a bit, and the 4 separate forum areas may be moved down into the main area of the forum. They may still stay as individually separate Order of The Phoenix sections for quite a while though, as there will be folks who don't immediately get the book or may take a little longer to read it. Some will speed-read and amazingly go through the book in less than a day, others prefer to read at a still very quick pace and will take a few days to enjoy the book, whilst other folk prefer to take the time to gradually cherish every page and may take quite a few weeks to enjoy the book. All ways have their positive aspects, and I've got the greatest respect for every one of those ways of reading, including the speed-reading which I think I'd find totally impossible. :)

Taking into consideration other things in life which will get in the way, like work/school, family, other commitments and unexpected happenings, and it could take even the most ardent Harry Potter fan a couple of months to read, so I think it's better to take a while before full integration.

There's also the possible new Harry Potter fans to think about too. There will probably be a lot of folks who, with all the excitement of the last few days and weeks, may have decided to start from book 1 and find out what all this HP stuff is all about. :-)

That's cool I'm not trying to speed it up or anything! I realise that there are people out there who can't *and possibly dont'w ant to* put their life on hold for like a whole day like I did and read it all al once, and respect their choices! I dont' want to be the one to spoil it for them... :(

I understand this, and I agree with it. But I would like it not be too long really, because then it will be dificult to have this threats separeted, I mean we have one ofr theories, and some for theories that relate to OOPT, I hope it would be a short time when we can talk freely again.
