okies....i made a mistake...you see i get an email everytime i get a message you know...and well...i deleted the reactivation thing or something...so i can't use my chocobo sn...it won't let me log in on it wassup with it?
Hi chocobo - sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. What message do you get when trying to log on? Are you also having problems signing on with your chicken wizard screenname?
You're still showing on the memberlist and I've just gone in to the admin area to check your registration info which looks like there's nothing particularly amiss. We'll get you back somehow!
By the way, I've just noticed that the IP you posted the top message here from resolves to AOL - not sure if that's part of the problem. I've been having problems with AOL myself today. It may be worth trying logging in through your usual different internet provider. Not sure if that will work or why AOL may cause problems but it's worth a try maybe.
I was just guessing about the AOL thing really as I was having general AOL problems (not related to the forum but just a general problem of being unable to view any sites at all) on the same day as I noticed chocobo's login problem. The problems I was having were just general access troubles and nothng to do with the forum so no, there's no apparent problem with AOL users here as far as I know.
Oddly enough you don't usually, which is another part of the reason I'd guessed it could have been an AOL problem. The admin function allows IP lookups so I'd checked, mainly to see if the "guest" posting was really you, rather than someone else masquerading as a chocobo-impostor!
It's one of those nice features which can be useful but kind-of annoying if you get too many! To turn it off, go to your "Profile" (top right of this page you're curently reading) and go down to the "Preferences" section. There you'll find a radio selection button under the heading:
"Always notify me of replies: Sends an email when someone replies to a topic you have posted in. This can be changed whenever you post"
Just change the option to "No" and click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page, and you'll stop getting the emails.
You can always get notifications to an individual posting by ticking the box "Notify me when a reply is posted" when you're writing a message.
yeah i had the same problem too...i switched it off but i still got the emails...but i'll try again.
um...btw...i usually use four dif. comps-my cousins, gs's, shools, or libraries...so uh...it may be hard to tell if someone tries to pose as me...although why...i haven't the slightest clue
