Extended Version

I doubt it. It seems to me that WB isn't taking the movies as seriously as they should. The 1st HP movie was great. It was missing a few things that I would have left in to keep the movies in line with the book. Like when Hagrid comes up and McGonnagel asks him were he got the bike. It would have only took two seconds for him to say that he got it from that young Sirius Black. A good set up that was unfortunatly taken out of the film. Now Chamber of Secrets was horrible. The way they took out all the suspensfull parts that concluded the viewer into believeing that maybe Harry was th heir of slytherin. The production of the dvd's, if they were smart, would have an option like the x-men dvd, to add the deleted scenes back into the movie.

if they had made an extended version it would have been the movie with the deleted scenes added in so it wouldnt be any different from normal dvd with extra scenes only you get charged more than double if they do choose the extended movie method.....

im gonna have 6 dvds of lotr by the time it finishes cos of that stupid extended movie thing

Yeah, an extended hp dvd would be very cool. I do wish they would take it more seriously

Actually the x-men 1.5 dvd is just a newer version of the previously released movie with extra bonus material and the dts capability (which unfortunatly got skipped over on the HP dvd's. Chris Columbus was never one to deliver a quality packed dvd). The original x-men movie has the extended branching version of the film in the extra's section. It kind of sucks because it slows the movie down and add's the extended and deleted scenes to the movie without taking out their counter part.

Lol, totally agree.

I think that if you add the deleted scences into the movie, that would be great!

LOl..okay. Now when you add the deleted scenes some of them are actually just alternate versions of a secene in the movie. When you use the branching option they add the alternate scene but leave the original scene that took its place in the movie so you have to watch it twice..one time for the original scene that was added into the movie and then again for the alternate version. Maybe I should have used the extended version of Independence Day as an example. They have a DVD that includes the original theatrical version and the extended edition all on one disc.

I think the extended edition of LoTR was more for the, in-depth fans. COnsidering the extended edition includes more of the book related things (Tree Beard recite Tom Bombadil's poem, Aowyn and Faramir's Romance, etc....) that aren't necessarily important to the plot.

Could they do that with Harry Potter? Hmmm...what scenes would they put back in?
