How's Sprout going to not be a part of it? They must at least mention her. She gives Harry a bit of a hard time when he first is part of the tournament (or maybe he just imagines she does), but she is the one to speak with the Diggorys after Cedric dies. However, if they play that scene really fast, which you know they will, even the bit about her talking with them could be cut to nothingness. She also teaches the class about the bubotuber pus, which Hermione receives in an owl post later on.
If you think about it, Sprout was pretty much just around and has served her purpose, so far as I can tell. I like the actress who plays her, and I don't like the idea of just cutting characters if they don't have an important part of the plot, simply because it adds to the movie to have all the teachers there, but her main purpose from a literary sense does seem to be the one preparing the Mandrakes in CoS. It's kind of like a few other characters or story plots. A lesser author would just completely get rid of them after they've served their purpose, but Rowling, being the genius she is, includes them as much as possible so they don't just disappear.
