What Do You Want the Most in GOF?

Postby Centaur Lord » Tuesday 26 October 2004 3:50:06am

Alright...i think that we all pretty much agree that the GOF movie should adhere to the book better than POA did. However, if there was just one thing that you could ask the director to do right, what would it be, and why? Personally, I want them to get the Graveyard scene right, not necessarily the scene itself, but more the aftermath of the return of LV. I know that sounds kinda weird, but thats what i want. In the book, you get this sense of total and utter fear...from everyone. I think its the scariest part in any of the books. You just get the sensation that Lord Voldemort, the most feared Dark wizard for a hundred years, has actually returned, and it means something. I also really like Harry's helplessness, and the fact that he is so sad and depressed and scared about what happened. That is the one thing that i hope the director can get right...if they scr*w up something else, i might be able to forgive them, but i want this to be perfect. Thoughts?

The dragons...without a doubt...I want to see some proper dragons. I hope they get them right...although Quidditch world cup comes a close second but dragons.....oh and need a suitable Bill Weasley too...he better be as pretty as I imagine him to be from the books....

Oh I totally agree!! Bill Weasley has to be as he is described in the book!

Dragons - well, they have done all right with CGs so far... hyppogrif (sp?) looks believable. :D

But yesh, when the movie comes out you will have to give us your expert opinion on dragons Scellanis. I really hope they are big....I imagined dragons as being much bigger than hyppogriff(sp? :( ) ^-^

yeah, I hope the dragons are good...

I hope they do get Bill right because Sirius was a dreadful dissapointment in my opinion anyway....

Yeah, Sirius was rather different from the one I imagined and I do hope that Bill will be OK though I'm afraid he won't :(

As for the one thing I want to be right - that's a hard decision. I'll go with Moody! He is so great though he's a fake.

I can't even think of anyone to play Bill... I mean, to get my Sirius right I think they would have to cast Johnny Depp as him even though he isn't British...but I've no idea of any actor that fits Bill Weasley properly...

I don't know as there is one specific thing I wouldn't be able to forgive them for but I am interested to see the mermaid scenes ( both in the prefect bathroom and in the lake    ) i hope they stick with the book on making the mermaids different from the traditional take on them :) [/b]

I though Harry Potter ones weren't supposed to be the usual pretty ones...but rather dangerous green things.....

Yeah, "real" mermaids in the HP universe are creepy scaly creatures and not the traditional Disney-like version. Although I'm quite sure that the picture in the bathroom was the pretty version of the mermaid.

Oh yeah, u r right.... :(

I prefer the Disney version....and not only Disney but in general a mermaid is suppose to be pretty (if she would look like a horrible ugly creature why would people jump from the ships to rescue them?)

Well, I still wanna see them :)

Dobby and Buckbeak looked awesome, so I have faith that whoever directs GOF will take them as examples of how CGI should be used.
