bad/good acting

I loved the way tom felton played draco and rupert grint played ron weasley, but theres just something about daniel and emma that annoyed me. i dont think dan was a very talented actor. emma did portray hermione the right way i guess, but she was really annoying which is how hermione is in the books so i guess she was ok. tom felton and rupert grint are cuties so id still like them whether or not there good.

:welcome: Welcome to BaO, fairyangel!

I don't really care for Daniel at all. I liked Emma, I thought she did an excellent job of playing Hermione, and she can actually act. Since Ron is supposed to be a kinda duh character, I guess Rupert Grint did a good job, but he's not my favorite. I don't necessarily dislike Tom Felton playing Draco Malfoy, but I keep thinking about what Rowling said in a chat about how a lot of people are reading things into Malfoy's character that has no business being there, just because Tom Felton's cute (people want to see him get a girl, etc).

Honestly, I dont' care for the child actors almost at all. I liked Bonnie Wright (Ginny), I thought Neville was played really well by Matthew Lewis. Like I said, I thought Emma Watson did a great job as Hermione, and Rupert Grint was a pretty good Ron. I think it's sad that the weakest actor plays the biggest character, but I do think all the child actors are improving, and considering that when I was 11, I was in sixth grade and not embarking on an acting career, I don't feel like I can say too much negative about them, especially seeing the improvements I think they're making.

Ahh favorite character... Alan Rickman, hands down THE best ever! If velvet could speak, it would sound like him. I could go on and on about how much I love Rickman/Snape, but I think you get the point.
As for the kids, I don't mind them too much. Though I wish that Fred and George would have bigger parts; it seems like they're always in the backround! Sean Biggerstaff is indeed very hot. Daniel, Rupert and Emma are OK (but I hate how it's as if Hogwarts revolves around the three of them; we hardley know any other students besides Draco and Ginnny). The evils and the professors are the best: Snape (of course), Tom Riddle, Lockhart, McGonagall, Dumbledore, the Malfoys. And the Dursleys were near perfect (Dudley needs to gain a few)

Oooooh, yes! Yummy Mr. Biggerstaff  If he was just a few years older I would go and eat him all up. :P I love that scots accent, rrrrrrrrrrr!
I think I have stated before what I think about Mr. Radcliffe :-? .

I think Emma did have the strongest performences of the three but I personally thought that her acting was better in the first movie rather than the second.
But she is perfect for the part although why aren't her teeth the way they are described in the books? Same question for her hair as well?

I am not sure if I have posted on this thread yet but I really loved McGonagall.
I can't think of the actress' name off the top of my head but she is fabulous.
I loved her so far in everything I have seen her in.
If you like this woman as an actress check out the movie:
The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood
She was absoutly fabulous in that role!

I think the actor that most fits the role is Rickman playing Snape (already said a million times, I know)... The greasy hair and black robes are obviously exactly what was described, and Rickman is able to portray that expression of almost knowing more than he should, like in the Philosopher's Stone, when Harry could swear Snape could read minds.

Maggie Smith also plays McGonnagal, both looks and personality-wise, exactly as how I had her pictured. Absolutely perfect!

I love Emma and Rupert for Hermione and Ron, except I just always imagined Hermione's hair a whole lot bushier, and Ron a little taller. But hey, that's spilled milk; their acting and fitting the role is phenomenal! I think Dan looks like I would imagine Harry, but his acting needs a little work. And Tom is EXACTLY how I imagined Malfoy. What a little slimy git.

On the other hand, I imagined Wood to be a whole lot more enthusiastic than he was portrayed. Whatev, I guess. My least favourite casting, and this is in absolutely no, no, disrespect, would probably be the late, great Richard Harris for Dumbledore in the first two movies. I feel awful saying this, but it's just that I imagined Dumbledore to be a lot more jovial and upbeat, while he was played a lot more serious and sombre.

I'll shut up now. Ha.

Hello Pannalid and welcome to B&O :welcome:

First of all everyone here has a right to their opinion and folks here at B&O are really great about letting all opinions be voiced without being shot down.

If you feel that Richard Harris played the role to seriously then you will probably like this new Dumbledore.
There is a scene when Ron is in the hospital wing and DD walks over to his bed while talking and puts his hand on his broken leg without apparently noticing making Ron jump but it is done in a comicical way.
That scene actually made me think that I would not care for the new DD but then again I loved Richard Harris in the role and will miss him.

So like I said we all have our own opinions and sharing them is what B&O is all about.

Hope you enjoy posting here!

Ooo...I donn't believe I ever posted in here...or if I did I can't remember it...

My fave actors would be Alan Rickman and Rupert Grint

My least fave is Daniel Radcliff (sp??)...particularly in the first movie...for the only kid out of the three to have previous acting experience he was the worst...very wooden.

i hate to say that i dont like Daniel's acting at all. However he looks like Harry so much... his face is straight out of the books so i dont mind him being there.

i just love...love...Emma watson :D btw wasnt Hermione supposed to be ordinary looking? Emma is just so lovely ;)

i agree with Pannalid that Richard harris wasnt an ideal Dumbledore. he wasnt very coherent in PoA either, but i guess age was catching with him there.

Tom Felton,Alan Rickman were great, and so was the guy who played Vernon. Hagrid wasnt too welldone
