Due to recent confusion amongst new members and as the original sorting rules having become lost in the ether of the sorting hat (they're in there somewhere - probably where Godric's sword used to be); I have created this topic to clarify the sorting rules.

To apply to be sorted into a house you must have reached 25 posts. These posts must be substantive and contribute to BaO in some way, 25 posts asking to be sorted would not suffice. Once you have reached 25 posts you may get sorted by either writing in the sorting hat thread, PMing a relevent house prefect, PMing Paul, or by clicking on the usergroups link and submitting your membership application to the relevent house.

Once you reach 125 posts you become a fully qualified wizard/witch (usual rules regarding post types apply i.e. substantive and not spam). At this point you may PM Paul asking for a custom title of your own chosing.

To become a moderator of a section of BaOs (this includes house prefects who are moderators of the houses) you must have been a member of BaOs for some time (although there is no fixed and set defined time period) and have contributed to BaO in a positive way. As a rough guide I would allow either a month of membership or 125 posts before considering applying for a moderator position, however all final decisions rest with the board administrator Paul. All applications should be made in the "Moderator Requests" thread.

Thank You.
