Clicket-clack....whirrrr...slide-slide...whirr...putta putta putta.

Welllll.....Godric....my clockwork wind-up abacus says that......

Before the original decision of Sunday April 29th, 2007 at 3:43 pm UK time, your average number of words per post (not including posts in Zonkos or the Word Games in the Three Broomsticks ) was 21.7624703088.

But...after that time your average number of words per post (again, not including Zonkos or the Three Broomsticks ) has been......28.1479099678.

Yay! Well done, Godric. You've improved quite impressively indeed. You've passed my arithmancy test with flying colours, and I'm happy to confirm that you're now Moderator of the Deathly Hallows based RPG and the Deathly Hallows RPG Discussion Area.

Now to find a way of removing that warning thing from beside your name....:typing: aha - that's done it.

Sincere thanks for deciding to become a Moderator, Godric! I hope you find it fun and enjoyable, and rewarding in helping out BaO too.

I never knew you could find out words per post! That's cool. It reminds me of work because the cash register calculates our items scanned per minute.

It's just a simple little potion I concocted...throw it at anyone and it'll explode all of their posts into separate words and count up the bits, then divide the total by the number of posts that existed before the explosion. :)

If people think it's a nice idea I could include it in all members' profile pages. At the moment it's not 100% accurate as it includes some things it shouldn't - I'd need to do some testing on server load for any checks for accuracy, as examining each tiny bit of the explosion could take up hoppy's resources for a second or two.

Yeah, you should probably clean it up before you add it. It might explode in a persons face and their nose might become seperated. :) But I do like the idea!

Would you have it not include Zonko's and Three Broomsticks?

Should it just contain the forums about the books? Because we can get pretty strange in Diagon Alley and the Common Rooms, too.

I'd love to know what my average words per post were....and I think it should contain all parts of the forum that count towards your post count.

Thanks for the positive votes for the idea. Once I make it nose-proof, I need to exclude the Test forum too I think.

Zonko's or the Three Broomsticks weren't included in the beta-version of the Word-Average Potion, as posts there are generally quite short by the nature of some of the threads, which would "artificially" reduce people's average.

I don't know so much about whether Diagon Alley and the Common Rooms, should be excluded - there are decent length posts in those areas....one moment...seeing as Scellanis has volunteered, lets use her as a guinea-pig.

* Waves wand and turns Scellanis into a small furry squeaky creature. *

Okies...as an example, Scellanis' average (using the beta version - watch your noses everyone) overall, excluding no forums at all is 42.2170134919 words.

Excluding the Word Games in The Three Broomsticks, Scellanis' average is 45.9893912604

Taking out Zonkos as well as The Three Broomsticks brings the average to 46.9313424505, and also removing the Test forum from the calculations brings things to an average of 47.0603593487.

If we remove Diagon Alley as well as all of those already removed, Scellanis' average is 47.1028956986.

And removing the Common Room posts as well gives an average of 51.642782244 ....wow, that increase surprised me. I've just had a quick look in the Hufflepuff Common Room and can see good reasons for this though (can't give any details here as don't want to give away private Hufflepuff stuff to other houses :) ) .

* Waves wand and turns Scellanis to a Pirahna Bunny....eeeek....quickly tries again and returns Scellanis to human form. *
