The Sorting Hat

Put your requests in here to join Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin. You can then enter the Common Rooms for the House of your choice and meet other House members to discuss House matters in private.

Funnily enough, in Slytherin I've start a "Status" sticky with current house member rates, recently posted threads and house activity when it calls for.

From memory I think there are 10 active members that have posted anything over the last 3 months.

Probably only about 5 or less that have posted in the Slytherin forum from December on though.

Well, a way to find the veeeeeeeeeeeeeery active people is to post a topic like "Say 'I' if you're active"

um..yes...this seems to have deteriorated to spam...which seems quite bad considering this is the sorting hat thread and we will probably have to tell the next new member to not spam to get the post count to be sorted...

Do as we say and not as we do I suppose...bleh....should get back on topic really

Well, you could make it so posting in that thread doesn't up your post count.

Good point, there's got to be a way though, you just need to be really good with computers.

I'm but you need to have 25 posts before you can sorted. If you contribute to the forum (not all in the word games) and return here when you have 25 posts then the gryffindor prefects will be delighted to sort you.

Spamming an internet forum in general, is when a user posts something which is off-topic or doesn’t have anything to do with the current subject. Also, a post that doesn’t contribute to the thread whatsoever is also considered spam in some cases. A third form of Forum Spamming is where a person repeatedly posts about a certain subject in a manner that is unwanted by (and possibly annoying to) the general population of the forum. Lastly there is also the case where a person posts messages solely for the purpose of increasing his or her ranking on the forum. In a broader sense, advertising on forums where it is not wanted is known as spamming and is generally seen as an annoyance.

Or to put it another way that relates to the forum, posting for the sake of posting when you don't have a point to make
